Climate-Controlled Transport, Mill to Install Day

The same unit that hauls your millwork becomes its climate-controlled storage on site. Loaded once at the mill, never transferred to a second container, never trucked to a distant warehouse and back.

We Already Climate-Guard Your Materials on Site. Now We Cover the Miles in Between.

Custom Climates keeps millwork, stone, and finishes installation-ready once they reach your jobsite. Transport extends that same controlled environment back to the mill, so your materials ride in the conditions they'll be installed in, not a dry van that swings forty degrees over the road.

How Mill-to-Site Transport Works

1

Pickup at the Mill

Our national trucking partner's dispatch team schedules the pickup straight with your millwork shop. Materials load into a 53-foot climate-controlled hybrid trailer that's already set to the right conditions before the doors close.

2

Climate-Controlled Transport

The unit holds temperature and humidity the whole way, running on its own generator over the road. The driver manages conditions in transit, so your finishes arrive in spec from the mill to your gate, not just once they're parked.

3

Acclimation and On-Site Storage

The same trailer switches to shore power and stays on site as your storage unit. We set it to the AWI Standard 200 zone for your install location so materials acclimate to the conditions they'll live in. 420 square feet holds 26 to 30 standard pallets.

4

Coordinated Removal

When the project wraps, we coordinate pulling the unit, included in your contract. No equipment to return, no second vendor to chase down.

Why General Contractors Hand Us the Whole Chain

One Unit, No Double Handling

Because the transport trailer becomes your on-site storage, your materials are loaded once at the mill. No moving the load from a freight truck into a separate container, no warehouse round trip, fewer chances for a forklift to put a dent in a six-figure panel.

Materials Arrive Acclimated, Not Shocked

Temperature and humidity stay controlled from pickup through install, set to the AWI Standard 200 zone for your jobsite. Your millwork shows up ready to acclimate on schedule, not stressed by a long ride in an uncontrolled van.

One Turnkey Vendor, Fully Insured

Pickup, transport, acclimation, storage, and removal run through one point of contact. The carrier holds the cargo insurance and the dispatch team handles scheduling, so you stop juggling a separate hauler, a warehouse, and a storage company.

The Details, If You Want Them

The handoff that wrecks millwork

Most damage to custom millwork doesn't happen on the jobsite. It happens in the gaps: the mill loads a freight truck, the truck drops the load at a warehouse, a crew transfers it into storage, then another truck hauls it to the site. Every transfer is a chance to crack a panel, chip a finish, or stress a joint. Every uncontrolled mile is a chance for the humidity to swing and the wood to move.

For commodity lumber, that's a rounding error. For a general contractor (GC) staging six-figure casework, imported stone, or commissioned fixtures, one bad handoff can cost more than the entire storage budget and add weeks of refabrication lead time you don't have.

One controlled move instead of five

Mill-to-site transport collapses that whole chain into a single controlled environment. Your materials load once, at the mill, into a 53-foot climate-controlled hybrid trailer. That same unit carries them to your jobsite and then stays put as your acclimating storage, plugged into shore power. There's no transfer into a second container and no offsite warehouse round trip, because the thing that moved your materials is the thing that stores them.

In transit, the unit runs on its own generator and the driver holds temperature and humidity to spec. Once it lands, we set it to the AWI Standard 200 Care and Storage zone for your install location, so your materials acclimate to the conditions they'll actually live in. The interior gives you 420 usable square feet, room for 26 to 30 standard pallets.

Why one unit costs less than two

There's a budget angle that's easy to miss. A unit earning its keep on the road costs you less than the same unit sitting empty on site waiting to be filled. Fold transport and storage into one trailer and you're not paying a freight company, a warehouse, and a storage vendor for three versions of the same job. You're paying for one unit doing all of it, with one point of contact and the carrier's cargo insurance covering the load on the road.

What's on us, and what's on you

Straight talk, because GCs plan around this. We coordinate the pickup, the climate-controlled haul, the on-site acclimation and storage, and the removal of the unit at the end. Our trucking partner serves 48 states and carries the proper cargo insurance.

Unloading on site stays where your contracts already put it: once materials arrive, the installer, millwork provider, or GC handles offloading per their scope. Leftover material at the end is theirs to clear too. We're the controlled environment from the mill to install day, not the install crew.

Built on the part we've already proven

We've been keeping high-value materials acclimated and protected in on-site units for our customers. Transport is the natural front end of that same chain: the same climate control, pushed back to the moment your materials leave the shop. If you're moving anything you can't reorder on your timeline, let's keep it in spec the whole way.
